The blade has a tapped hole that is used during manufacturing but has no post-manufacturing use. The ruler of the square is one and a half inches wide but doesn't have markings. The lip of the square is about a quarter-inch on each side and cannot be placed in the miter slot to square a TS blade. Overall, the Incra GSQR5 Square 5" Precision Square is a great square that won't disappoint.
