Answer: I have a wide foot and as I get older it seems to get wider, that being said - this is the only shoe I can put on and not have any problem with the width, I can wear them comfortably out of the gate all day long at work, I wear an eight and a half, no problem and I'm on my feet all day long. -

Answer: It is wide, I don't know if they have other than wide in this shoe, I order 9 1/2 W. -

Answer: These shoes do not have removable inserts. -

Answer: Yes very good arch support. -

Does the insole come out or is it glued in? I wear custom orthotics and like to put them under the insole.
Answer: The insole comes right out. I also have an orthotic for my left foot and this works perfect it never slips. -

My feet measure is 26 cm long, is it 9 US or 9.5 US?
Answer: According to the conversion chart the closed is 25.9 or 26.2 CM which equals 10 or 10.5 in women's respectively. In men's a 26 CM foot equals a 9 in men's. http://www.zappos.com/c/shoe-size-conversion? BTW this is a good quality shoe and is well worth the money. If they hurt your feet, you have the wrong size and you should return them for free and receive a refund. I have my feet sized by length and wide before purchasing any shoe online.
