Jim Dunlop Cleaning & Care 654 Editorial Review
The Dunlop 654 Formula 65 Guitar Polish & Cleaner has garnered a mix of praise and caution from guitar enthusiasts. Users appreciate the polish's ability to clean and enhance the shine of their instruments, often noting that it effectively removes oils and smudges without leaving streaks or scratches. Many have found that applying the product using a soft cloth yields the best results, especially on high-gloss finishes where it restores the luster admirably. However, customers do warn about the potential risks of using the product on instruments with existing chips or cracks, as the cleaner may exacerbate these damage points. Users have recommended caution and have suggested inspecting their guitars before application to avoid any mishaps. Some reviewers mentioned dealing with issues related to the bottle's spray mechanism clogging over time and opted to transfer the fluid to another spray container, emphasizing the need for a well-functioning applicator. While the polish is described as effective, a few users believe that it does not dramatically outperform typical cleaning methods or other cleaner brands, such as Windex. Still, it has built a loyal following due to its good performance and pleasant aroma, making it a staple for maintaining the aesthetic appeal of valuable guitars. ###
